The Supreme Body for The Indian Universities, ‘UGC‘ frames a draft of regulations for Universities which enables universities to offer Dual-Degree from University affiliated Indian and Overseas higher education Institutions, separately as well as simultaneously. students can take their courses at any foreign institute after admitting them to an Indian educational institution. But the degree or diploma certificate will be issued only by Indian educational institutions. As per The new sets of regulations, Indian institutions for higher education can collaborate with foreign counterparts for credit recognition and transfer and twinning arrangement for offer of degrees. But this rule does not apply to online and distance learning. So there will be criteria for obtaining a double degree.
Indian educational institutions offering dual or joint degrees must be accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAC). In addition, you have to score 3.01 points. In addition, the National Institute of Institutions Ranking Framework (NIRF) must be included in the top 100 universities. All of these institutions will then seek permission from the UGC to negotiate with foreign institutions.
